The Best Teachers Never Talk | Black Sheep Poetry
An anthem for introverts and the inspiration-challenged.
Black Sheep Poetry is a weekly reflection along the lonely road away from collective chaos. Standing tall in a culture pushing us to make our individuality second to the group doesn’t just require intellectual strength, but emotional fortitude.

The Best Teachers Never Talk
Reaching toward the light plants on my windowsill keep me company throughout the writer’s block and recurring doubt. My will wanes faced with the world’s flaws and mine. Cowardice begets cowardice and malice, malice. More of us feel like lone wolves abandoning a rabid pack on a dark night. I look away from my work and toward the plants who reach. Fresh leaves unfurl outwards, grateful for the light. I forget where to look for what I’m looking for. Plants know exactly what they’re looking for. I turn back to my work, grateful for the light.
Lovely.
If you want inspiration in a similar vein, look at Navalny's moving speech to the kangaroo court that convicted him. It's been reposted recently under the title, "The People who Look the Other Way." You likely follow the FP, so you may have already seen it. https://www.facebook.com/terry.quist.5/posts/pfbid02MasJx1eQB4qVHo2Ts4gsSJNSMVaeQsvapyEjskzSAduPWwDkrStHhP8RAMv7UpzVl
Great inspiration. Thanks for expressing what so many of us are thinking.
