Wow. You've done it again. You've managed to give me a new perspective on a problem that has been turning in my head for a couple weeks now. I'm not an anxious person but the last couple of weeks has sent me spiraling down the rabbit hole of anxiety and despair. The weight of existence is heavy enough without the added stress of school, job searching, and uncertainty of your career. I've been trapped in the pit and trying to claw my way out and find some form of peace. I will endeavor to reframe my thinking when it comes to the root of my anxiety (being jobless, a failure, etc.) and tone down the walls I've built up in my head. Thank you for the fresh perspective and intriguing ideas as always.
Thank you so much for this beautiful message! I'm so, so thrilled to know these ideas resonated with you.
I know exactly what you mean about that spiral—been there many times, particularly as of late. A few people close to me have been dealing with anxiety too. You put it perfectly: "The weight of existence is heavy enough without the added stress of..."—that stressor changes for us all, but there's always something.
I've found for myself at least, that my anxiety isn't shy, it's usually very clear that I've somehow run astray somewhere. Sometimes it's focusing on things far beyond my control to intensely, avoiding tasks for too long, or straying too far from what's beneficial for me (exercise, socializing, time off), for example. But it will definitely speak up and gnaw at me until I face it.
It made my day to know that you found something to consider in the newsletter. Thanks for reading!
