Reading this article here reminded me of your blogpost Salomé. You really hit the nail on the head by framing attention as a commodity everyone, good or bad, on the internet wants a piece of. Looks like the academes have been thinking about this too. Thank you for so graciously planting the idea in my head. I hope to help it grow into a healthy forest of media mindfulness. Although the article focuses on misinformation. I think we would all benefit if we applied the 'attention as a currency' trick to all information on the web, not just the loony stuff. We should all be very miserly with how much attention we choose to PAY. That said, Weird and Güd has been worth every attention I have paid so far. Looking forward to the next edition.

Information overload can really be a bad thing! It's hard for me to be overloaded today. Since I am used to receiving lot of information. This is because I am library-degreed and worked in academic libraries. One really should be wary of gaining too much information. It can make one lose his or her's sanity! Very good point Salome.
